Job Summary:  
In this position you will be a senior back-end engineer, implementing new features, squashing bugs, and helping shape the technical vision and strategy for all back-end engineering at Invaluable.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • You’ll create APIs and work with relational and NoSQL data stores, queues and other modern technologies to write performant, scalable, testable code.
  • Make architectural decisions as you build on our existing platform and create new product offerings
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices in Back-End engineering,


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Experience in application development using Java (8+) and Spring (Boot, MVC, Data, etc.), with an emphasis on performance, security and scalability
  • Thorough understanding of API development using both REST and GraphQL
  • Strong experience with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with AWS cloud services such as Cognito, Lambda, etc.
  • Experience working with message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ), Familiarity with CI/CD (Docker, Jenkins)
  • A passion to produce clean, maintainable, robust, well-tested code
  • Above all, you'll bring team play, a sense of ownership, a commitment to quality, intense enthusiasm and curiosity for technology.


Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 8+ years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • An ecommerce background with transferable skills would be an asset
  • Demonstrated communication and time management skills
